Airbus strengthened further its market position in Asia Pacific in 2015, winning 421 net orders from 17 airlines and lessors in the region during the year. Airbus begins A350-1000 final assembly
Airbus has started final assembly of the first A350-1000 on schedule at the A350 XWB Final Assembly Line (FAL) in Toulouse, France. This A350-1000, one of three flight test aircraft to be built, will take to the skies for its maiden flight before the end of 2016 with deliveries beginning in in mid-2017. AEI announces B737-400SF conversion for World Star Aviation
Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) has announced that the company has signed a contract with San Francisco based aircraft leasing company, World Star Aviation, to provide an 11 pallet position B737-400SF freighter conversion. The aircraft built in 1990 is standard gross weight and is being modified at Commercial Jet’s Dothan, AL facility. The freighter will be re-delivered to World Star in June of 2016. Lithium battery issue reignited after US safety regulators issue alerts
Earlier this week the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a safety alert to US and foreign commercial passenger and cargo airlines, urging them to conduct a safety risk assessment to manage the risks associated with transporting lithium batteries as cargo. ICAO reaches agreement on CO2 emissions standard
Governments, industry and environmental groups meeting at the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) have finalised the design of the first global certification standard for CO2 emissions from new aircraft.
