The Icelandic Met Office in mid-August raised its aviation alert level to ‘orange’ as a result of activity in the Bardarbunga volcano, following a major earthquake, the largest in the area since 1996. Emirates SkyCargo is set to further strengthen trade lanes between Switzerland and its worldwide network with the introduction of a weekly freighter service from Basel to Dubai starting 21 September 2014.
