Korean Air hits Q1 sales and profit records
Korean Air said its first quarter sales and operating profits were the highest ever, based on an increase in demand for travel and a strong won. The carrier’s first quarter sales were 2.6 trillion won (US$2.3 billion), up 14.8 per cent from the first quarter of last year, when it achieved its previous record of 2.3 trillion won. Airbus' new A330-200 Freighter, which has a payload of 70 tonnes – one tonne greater than first expected – has been granted Type Certification by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), following a successful 200-hour flight-test campaign. Singapore Airport Terminal Services (SATS) and Air India today signed an agreement to form a single 50:50 joint venture (JV) company that will serve as the vehicle to house their three existing ground and cargo handling JVs in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
