Air carriers from the Gulf states will not be given new landing rights at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. The Dutch government is citing “unfair competition with Air France-KLM” as the reason for its actions. Alitalia to end deal with Air France-KLM in 2017
Italy's Alitalia announced it will not renew its partnership and joint venture agreements with Air France-KLM when the deal expires in 2017. The partnership, writes Radiocor press agency, concerns the passenger services of the airlines between France, Italy and the Netherlands, along with marketing, the sale and distribution of Alitalia's cargo belly services operated by Air France-KLM. Air France-KLM group full year results for 2014 reveal flat revenues of €24.9 billion and EBITDA of €1.5 billion, down €266 million. Sodexi opens express freight hub at CDG
France-based express package handler Sodexi, a joint venture of Air France-KLM (65 per cent) and Geopost (35 per cent), began operation of a new 7,600 sq m (818,000 sq ft) express freight terminal at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport last week. Air France-KLM will defer the deliveries for 10 Boeing 777-300ERs scheduled for delivery in 2015-2016 because of poor financial results and low fuel prices. Europe’s biggest airline 2014’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation is reported to be US$246 million lower than expected.
