South Korean LCC Jin Air Co. will launch new international flights in the second half of 2014 as part of its strategy to expand its footprint in the airline industry. The wholly owned budget unit of Korean Air Lines Co. will start semi-weekly flights linking Jeju Island to China’s Xian and Quanzhou starting on 2 October. American Airlines Cargo has selected Jettainer to manage the fleet of containers and pallets across the American network. Jettainer will equip the airline with eco-friendly lightweight containers for the next five years and therefore make a significant contribution to reducing the airline’s carbon dioxide emissions and provide fuel cost savings. United Cargo will add three new tracking and monitoring devices on its entire mainline jet fleet of more than 700 aircraft, increasing the number of cargo tracking and monitoring devices accepted by the carrier to 13.
