Qatar’s national airline is continuing its expansion plans in India with a significant increase in capacity on its flights from Doha to Bengaluru from 1 August 2015. Currently Qatar Airways operates a B787 on the Doha-Bengaluru route. Starting 1 August, the Doha-Bengaluru route operated by B787 will be replaced by a B777. Hainan Airlines buys 30 B787-9s
China’s fourth-largest carrier said it plans to order 30 B787-9 aircraft as it seeks to expand international routes to tap into growing demand for overseas travel from China. The order would be the biggest this year for the jet, worth US$7.7 billion according to list prices. It would also boost the aircraft maker’s 787 programme backlog to 855 planes. KLM postpones 787 deliveries, new routes
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has postponed the delivery of two B787-9s as pressure mounts on the Dutch carrier to enhance its fiscal discipline through cuts in spending. Bloomberg news quotes KLM spokesman Robbert Veldhuizen as saying that while two of the carrier's 10 B787-9s on order from Boeing have been delayed, the delivery of the first remains on track for the last quarter of the year. Scoot increases Bangkok frequency, capacity
From 8 July 2015, Scoot will add three more weekly flights to its existing daily service to Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport, taking the total frequency to 10 flights per week. Ryanair steps up plans for transatlantic airline
The board of Ryanair has approved plans to launch transatlantic flights, as part of its five-year growth strategy outlined by the airline.
