Korean Air has welcomed its first B747-8 Intercontinental at a ceremony held at the Boeing Everett Delivery Centre in Seattle. "This new aircraft delivers better fuel economy. KAL-ASD to manufacture wingtips for A330neo

Korean Air Aerospace Division (KAL-ASD), the aerospace manufacturing division of the Korean Air Group, has been selected by Airbus to supply new Sharklet wingtip devices including a wingspan extension for the A330neo – the new variant of the A330 Family of widebody aircraft. Korean Air widens 4Q losses

The Korean flag carrier posted a KRW272 billion (US$247.5 million) net loss for the fourth quarter of 2014 and a KRW458 deficit for the full year, widened from a KRW57 billion loss recorded in the year-ago period. The net loss for 2014 is reported to be the result of a stronger US dollar which inflated the value of Korean Air’s foreign debts although its operating profit rose, helped by a recovery in the global air cargo industry, falling oil prices and cost-cutting. Korean Air orders five 777 freighters

Boeing and Korean Air finalised an order for five 777 freighters. The order, valued at more than US$1.5 billion at current list prices. Korean Air flies direct to Milan, Rome

Korean Air has announced that commencing 25 February 2015 it will change the current service on its Seoul Incheon - Milan - Rome – Incheon route, to provide direct flights to both Milan and Rome, offering three flights a week to each destination, with Milan increasing to four times a week in March.
