Lufthansa Cargo and Jettainer have initiated a pilot scheme to test the impact of lightweight containers on the air cargo carrier's environmental performance and transport costs. Airport ground and handling company, Swissport International has signed a cooperation agreement with Lufthansa Cargo to provide airfreight handling services for the partner airlines of the Lufthansa Cargo Group - including Jade Cargo - at Amsterdam Airport for the next three years. Frankfurt cargo down 25% in December
Freight traffic at Frankfurt airport dropped by 25 per cent in December from a year ago - the third successive monthly decline at Europe¡¯s largest air cargo hub - as the global economic downturn slashed German exports.
