Oman Air orders 20 B737s
Oman Air has ordered 20 B737 aircraft as part of a plan to double its fleet to 70 by 2020, chief executive Paul Gregorowitsch said. The order includes both the current generation of 737s, which will be delivered from 2017, as well as the re-engined 737 Max aircraft that will come from 2019. Government-owned Oman Air has appointed Paul Gregorowitsch as its new chief executive officer replacing Wayne Pearce, who left the company after serving more than two years as the CEO. Oman Air focuses on lagging freight ratios
Oman Air said it aims to improve cargo performance to increase its contribution the carrier's total revenue. As part its ongoing expansion plan, Oman Air will boost its cargo business to account for at least 12 per cent of total airline revenues over the next five years, CEO Peter Hill said.
