Tianjin Airlines announced last week the arrival of its first widebody aircraft, an A330-200, bringing the carrier's fleet to 89 aircraft. IATA pessimistic on cargo growth this year
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has released a pessimistic view on air cargo growth saying, “it is shaping up to be another tough year for air cargo” pointing to the latest 2.0 per cent drop in volumes against a 6.9 per cent rise in capacity. Qatar Airways launches Adelaide service with A350 XWB
Qatar Airways has launched its fourth Australian destination with the start of its A350 service to Adelaide. The launch of the new Adelaide route is part of Qatar Airways’ expansion plans in Australia where it launched its new daily flight to Sydney in March this year and where it has been flying daily to and from Melbourne since 2009 and Perth since 2012. AEI wins order for two B737-400SF conversions
Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) has announced the signing of a contract with Automatic to provide the company with two 11 pallet position B737-400SF freighter conversions. The two aircraft, both built in 1993 are standard gross weight aircraft and will be modified by Commercial Jet’s Miami,FL facility. The freighters will be re-delivered to Automatic in September 2016 and January 2017, respectively. FAA approves A350 XWB for ‘beyond 180 minutes’ ETOPS
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has approved the A350-900 for ETOPS (Extended-range Twin engine aircraft Operations) ‘beyond 180 minutes’ diversion time. This approval means that when the first FAA-affiliated operators start to take delivery of their A350s in 2017 they will be able to serve new direct non-limiting routings, compared with a standard 180 minute ETOPS diversion time. Philippine Airlines finalises order for six A350-900 XWBs
Philippine Airlines (PAL) has finalised a purchase agreement with Airbus covering the firm order of six A350-900s, plus six options.
