Emirates SkyCargo and the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to streamline processes for the transport of dangerous or hazardous goods. The two entities will work together to “proactively share information on certain classes of dangerous goods booked for transport” on the airline through Dubai. HKIA’s cargo volume up 23 percent in February
Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) last week released the traffic figures of Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) for February 2021. During the month, cargo throughput was 310,000 tonnes, up 23.3 percent year-on-year increase, whilst freighter movements surged 36.8 percent to 4,615, from the 3,374 recorded during the same month last year. DHL Express opens $131m hub at Malpensa Airport
DHL Express has opened a new logistics hub at Milan’s Malpensa Airport (MXP), valued at €110 million (US$131 million) euros, as part of a €350 million (US$418 million) investment plan in Italy. The company will operate over 30 daily flights from the new hub and nearly 38,000 pieces per hour through automated sorting and scanning systems, it noted, enabling 12 times more operational capacity. AerCap, GECAS merger forms world’s biggest jet lessor
Aviation lessor AerCap confirmed on 10 March in a filing to the US Securities and Exchange Committee (SEC) its proposed acquisition of GE’s aircraft leasing division GECAS (GE Capital Aviation Services). Amazon takes stake in aircraft lessor ATSG for US$131m
Amazon has snapped up a 20 percent stake in cargo airline operator and lessor Air Transport Services Group (ATSG), which operates part of the company’s air fleet.
