Korean pulls out of SkyTeam cargo alliance

Korean Air has terminated its involvement in the SkyTeam joint venture cargo sales alliance that had been formed with SkyTeam partners Delta and Air France. The Asian carrier's withdrawal effectively ended the joint venture after Delta Cargo decided to pull out late last year. Air France/KLM and Delta do transatlantic deal

A new transatlantic joint venture between Air France-KLM and Delta Air Lines will boost each partner's profits by up to US$150 million, the two airlines said recently. Air France-KLM CEO Pierre-Henri Gourgeon said the 13-year agreement to pool revenue and costs for flights between Europe and the US, and to cooperate closely on many other flights, will significantly lift both carriers' revenues while cutting costs. Delta to fiddle with Boeing orders following NW integration

Delta Air Lines, which bought Northwest Airlines in October, plans to make major changes to aircraft orders both had previously placed with Boeing, according to The Wall Street Journal. Delta is likely to scale back a Northwest order for Boeing's new, but delayed, 787 Dreamliner, and ask the manufacturer to expand a Delta order for the 777-200LR aircraft.
