Lufthansa’s A321F delivers Norway’s freshest catch

Lufthansa Cargo has introduced weekly A321 freighter flights to Evenes Airport (EVE) in northern Norway from November to bring the best fresh seafood from the region. The company is working with Norwegian salmon producer and exporter Nordlaks and the freight forwarder Salmosped to deliver the freshest catch around the globe. Lufthansa orders 10 Boeing freighters worth US$3.9b

Lufthansa has set its course for growth with the group’s largest investment as the German airline ordered 10 Boeing widebody freighters, including three 777Fs and seven 777-8Fs, valued at around $3.9 billion.  The first of the 777F aircraft, which could be acquired on the used market at short notice, is expected as early as July 2022. Lufthansa will only fly cargo with electronic air waybills

Lufthansa Cargo has taken a major step towards paperless shipments, as beginning the summer schedule on 27 March 2022, only an electronic air waybill or eAWB will be accepted for shipments, particularly on feasible lanes. "Routes that are eAWB-feasible are those for which the regulatory basis for the use of electronic air waybills is in place," the airline explained. Lufthansa joins MSC in bid for Italian airline

Mediterranean Shipping Co. plans to own a controlling stake in new Italian flag carrier ITA Airways in a deal valued somewhere around US$1.4 billion, which would include German airline Lufthansa. Cologne-Bonn Airport through its supervisory board has unanimously elected Thilo Schmid as the new CEO of the German air hub with immediate effect.
