Jetstar deploys new B787s on Japan routes
Jetstar last week began using its most recent B787 delivery to replace an A330 on service from Cairns to Osaka, Japan. The low-cost carrier (LCC) also introduced a B787 on its Cairns-Tokyo route in August, and on its Gold Coast-Tokyo flight in July. Aside from the Japan routes, Jetstar has introduced 787s on routes from the three major east coast cities of Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne to Thailand and Indonesia. Schenker sues carriers over cargo price fixing
Deutsche Bahn’s logistics subsidiary Schenker has filed a lawsuit against certain air cargo carriers operating in the US market, allegedly claiming damages for illegal fixing fuel and security surcharges for shipments from, to and within the US from 1999 until at least 2006. The complaint was filed in New York federal court against air cargo carriers Air France, KLM, Martinair, Cargolux, Qantas, SAS and All Nippon Airways.
