United Airlines today announced the appointment of Jan Krems as president of United Cargo and vice president United Airlines. Krems takes over the role held by Robbie Anderson who was president of United Cargo since 2010. Five US carriers including the country’s four largest have applied for coveted slots at Tokyo's downtown Haneda airport, two months after a landmark agreement was reached between the US and Japan to relax restrictions on flights between the two countries. United posts $63 million loss for Q3
UAL Corporation, the holding company of United Airlines, reported a net loss of $63 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2009. Cargo revenue for the quarter decreased 43 per cent year-over-year as a result of lower volumes and continued pressure on yields due to the weak economy, the group said. UA to continue with Aer Lingus outsourcing
United Airlines said Wednesday it will press ahead with a controversial plan to outsource some international flying to Aer Lingus despite further cutbacks at the Irish carrier, according to Dow Jones. The airlines announced an "innovative" plan last January that would see Aer Lingus operate flights from Madrid to the US beginning in March on behalf of United, but using Aer Lingus planes. United Airlines has received permission from the US Transportation Department to delay the start of flights between San Francisco and Guangzhou, China until June 2010 because of the steep drop off in demand. Aer Lingus and UAL extend transatlantic tie-up
Aer Lingus and United Airlines (UAL) have announced an extension of their code-sharing relationship on select long haul services between Europe and North America.
