United faces US$1.3M cargo safety fine
United Airlines faces US$1.3 million fine over cargo. The Federal Aviation Administration said Tuesday that inspectors found at least 120 violations during 2013 inspections in Boston, San Francisco, Denver and Chicago. Safety regulators also said that United twice improperly accepted hazardous material for air shipments. IATA reports 4.2% rise in Nov air freight
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reported November 2014 data for global air freight markets showing that demand measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTK) grew 4.2 per cent compared to November 2013. Capacity grew by 3.3 per cent over the previous November. Compared to October 2014, air freight demand expanded by a healthy 0.8 per cent. Cologne airport cargo up 2% in 2014
Cologne Bonn Airport saw record air cargo growth in 2014, handling 753,000 tonnes, a 2 per cent increase on 2013.
